Night Fae, as by far the most popular covenant, has largely been that way because of Soulshape, and if you’re even a tiny bit interested in what your spirit animal looks like, you’re gonna love this, as I’ll show you how to get the Wolfhawk form from a rare spawn in Ardenweald – the Skuld Vit.
Skuld Vit is a rare living just north of the Darkreach area, in a small cave that you can only ever enter with a Soulshape, but if you’re of a different covenant, you can wait for someone to pull the rare out. However, it won’t have anything of particular importance to drop for you, unless you’re going for an Adventurer of Ardenweald achievement.

Once you find his cave, he may not be around, and you may have to wait for about 40ish minutes for his spawn timer, but there’s also an easier way to do this. It involves being a bit unfair and slightly faster on a kill as you may be in a hurry, but it’s a good idea to search for multiple servers if no one’s posting a group with his name in the title. What you can do is join literally any quest or world quest group from the finder, and you’ll be sent to a different realm where he may be up. If he is, use Soulshape to cross the barrier, pull the boss, and try to kill him until your group gets disbanded, or you get kicked out for not helping where you’re supposed to.
Even these days, Skuld hits like a truck, so it’s a good idea to use some food or other consumables to kill him before he kills you. I went as a Warlock and he was still able to bite through my HP regardless of my pet having the aggro and taunting with all his abilities, so prepare some health pots in case you’re squishy like me.
Beware of the bugs…
Also, there are some cases of people being teleported out of the cave even when they use Soulshape, and some haven’t been able to get in at all. What you can do if this happens is either look for a new spawn in a different realm, or send your pet to aggro him if you can, as that way he’ll either keep you in or he’ll go out of the cave with you. If you’re a Hunter, try using your Eye of the Beast ability to pull him out of the cave yourself, if nothing else seems to work, but I’m sure that by now the bugs have been mostly fixed. Also, if you’re a Druid in Balance spec, it appears that your Treants can pull him from a distance, so give that a try if you’re unable to get in for some reason.
How to get Wolfhawk Soulshape
Upon the kill, you should receive a quest for the Wolfhawk Soul that you need to turn in back in your covenant. This is not a 100% drop rate, it’s more like 60, but you have a daily chance for this regardless of which realm you’re on, so best of luck.
When you get to the blue bird guy in the covenant, change the Soulshape form to your Wolfhawk and give it a go. It’s quite beautiful and spreads its wings in a unique way, making a lot of people speculate on whether or not our Soulshapes will be able to fly at any point, but I don’t think they’ll go that far. This one is majestic even on the ground, and if you’re a soulshape collector, I highly recommend it.
