If there’s ever been a good expansion for creepy, little Gargoyle pets to get thrown into WoW, it’s Shadowlands, so if you’ve always wanted one, this guide is for you. Today, I’m showing you how to get a secret pet from a World Quest in Revendreth with some cool abilities and some pretty awesome animations.

How to get Dal, the secret battle pet in Revendreth
When it comes to Dal, you can only get him when the world quest called A Stolen Stone Fiend is active in Revendreth. Getting the pet is very easy, as all you need to do is finish the quest by using the Stone Fiend Tracker to search for a missing Stone Fiend. At the end of the World Quest, you’ll need to defeat Edgar the Collector, and don’t worry about completing the quest as you can get the pet upon its completion for as long as it’s active on the server you’re on.
The important thing, though, is to not leave upon completion of the world quest, but instead go over to Penkle, who’s hidden behind a building nearby. If you’ve done it correctly, you’ll get a dialogue option to receive a Cage Key!
/way 57,3, 39,8
/way 54,3, 38,4 (inside)
/way 52,4, 46,9 (inside)
/way 46,2, 48,9 (Edgar the Collector)
Penkle has a cage next to him, and upon receiving the Cage Key, you should be able to interact with it and unlock the cage, which will award you with Dal’s Courier Badge in your bag. Simply click on it and you’ve got yourself a cool new pet!
Beware of the bugs…
Now, I’ve got a few tiny things to mention about possible bugs, as I’ve stumbled upon this info while researching the pet.
Although the majority of them seem to have been fixed at the beginning of 2021, the cage has had a nasty habit of bugging out, and has had a long cooldown upon use from other people. The way to address this issue if it happens seems to be joining a group on a different realm, most commonly the ones created for farming Blanchy and Famu. That’ll get you over to a different realm, and you should try and unlock the cage on that one, which most likely will solve all your problems. Some people even reported having to switch multiple groups, but eventually, everyone was able to find the cage that works. This hasn’t happened to me and I’m not 100% sure if all the bugs are fixed, but now you’ve got this piece of potentially useful info, too.
That’s pretty much it when it comes to getting this cool pet. Let me know in the comments if you’ve got any questions, and if you’re more of a visual type, and you don’t mind getting easy wins in WoW, you can check out all of this in my video – and subscribe for more awesome WoW stuff!
