There are plenty of mounts that you can catch in Korthia, but one of the most fun-looking ones is definitely the Crimson Shardhide. It’s a tiny puzzle with a chance to drop this bad boy that can be completed daily on your character, so there’s no reason not to give it a shot. In this post, you’ll learn what you need to do to get it, along with some tips and tricks that’ll make your hunt easier. Crimson Shardhide’s drop rate is currently estimated at around a 1-2% drop, but the rare event can be completed once a day on your character.
Crimson Shardhide’s location

You won’t actually be killing the rare where the event starts, but for the beginning of it, you need to be at the Keeper’s Respite, where your Korthian homebase is. Over there, you’ll occasionally find an NPC called Caretaker Kah-Kay. You need to open the dialogue with him, and he’ll tell you that there’s a large shardhide that needs to be dealt with. He’ll want you to track it down, and for that, you’ll use his tiny, little shardhide called Kah-bear.

How to get Crimson Shardhide mount
Once you’ve closed the dialogue, your shardhide will sniff out some purple steps on the ground. You need to follow them, and I suggest walking instead of mounting as you can easily cover those steps with your mount and lose track of them. If you can’t see the footsteps, your graphics settings may be set on low, so try cranking them up a bit until they become visible, as everything is very brown and dark, so it gets difficult to follow them. Also, don’t worry about entering the combat, as your little guy will wait for you to kill any minions and even look like he’s trying to help a bit, which is just adorable!
The purple footsteps will take you to a sharshide-filled area, and you’ll need to click on a piece of meat next to the skeleton thing on the ground. If the meat isn’t there, don’t worry about it and wait for it to spawn, as sometimes it takes a few minutes for that to happen. When you click on it, a big bear-like rare will show up, and his name is Malbog. He’s got quite a bit of HP, hits hard and stuns, so it’s currently a bit tedious to solo, but it’s definitely doable. Upon killing the rare, you have a small chance to become the owner of a mount that looks exactly the same, so good luck!
